Sachin Tendulkar for the maximum civilian Humour

The Union home ministry is learnt to have sanctioned and promoted to the Office of Prime Minister a proposal to comprise sport in the Bharat Ratna group, and directorial progression that can terminate in the selection of Sachin Tendulkar for the maximum civilian humour. The honor has been awarded for outstanding service towards progression of art, literature and science, and in recognition of public service of the highest order till now.

The sports minister Ajay Maken has sent a note to the home ministry suggesting the addition of sport in the list. P. Chidambaram this week promoted the letter to the Office with of Prime Minister. Neither Maken nor Chidambaram has named Tendulkar other than the timing of the note of sports minister those days after World Cup India victory makes the association clear.

The Telegraph columnist Ashok Mitra had cautioned that handing the award to Tendulkar might open the floodgates for fans to insist the similar honor. Bharat Ratna proposals are made by the Prime Minister, Vice-President and the leader of the Opposition, and the President makes the preference. It is a quandary the authorities could countenance any day now to make a decision whether to consider on the like scale the great nation-builders at one finish and the enormously successful, immensely rich expert persons at the other.

The Telegraph had said in a leading article that the authorities should not get accepted away by popular response and confers the Bharat Ratna on Tendulkar. The most imperative article on March 4, 2010, had asked if sport calculated as a grave an adequate amount of sphere of achievement.
